Christmas and Autism

Christmas can be a nightmare for people on the autism spectrum, but it doesn't have to be. What to do to make it easier for them?

When, after a period of stress, crowds in shops and general overstimulation, we sit down by the Christmas tree, our tensions usually begin to subside. And yet, for people on the autism spectrum, new challenges arise: Christmas hugs, "strange" food and meetings relatives you rarely see otherwise. How do we make everyone feel okay at the Christmas table? We ask prof. Lotta Borg Skoglund from Karolinska Institute.
